I Believe in Community Involvement

  • Community Outreach Events: SWAT/Synergy Annual Service Projects, Food drives and fundraisers
  • Fresno High Mentoring Program
  • Founder: Pencils to Paper School Supplies Outreach Program 2007-present. (Teague school + expansion plans through HCCD)
  • Involved in my children's school whether it is in the classroom, through Parent Club, Fundraising events and other volunteer service.

I have a Fresh Perspective

I am an experienced business professional, mother and wife.

  • Mother of an elementary and high school students attending Central Unified Schools since 2001, but I have been involved with the Central Unified community since 1995.
  • I can assess the needs of our district with over 20 years of experience in: Buying, Business Management and Financial Planning, Budget development and implementation.

My Thoughts

"I believe we either become a part of our community now and support the needs of the schools or we will support it later as a part of the criminal justice system".
I have seen it both ways. My husband and I were given the opportunity to run a youth group in Highway City starting in 1995. We had so many kids who just needed direction, guidance, trust and some responsibility. They needed people to believe in them when most people didn't. It has been a privelege to watch them become productive adults with good jobs and who give back to their communities. We also were there for kids who didn't have much guidance and ended up lamenting the poor choices that caused them great pain.
Each and every child through the stages of his/her life need the guidance of the best teachers, systems and leadership available. They need current technology, supplies and a safe up-to-date place to be educated. They need the best opportunities available to succeed.

This is my passion.... To be a voice for the future of our children. It means working hard to insure that each child's gifts and talents are exposed in a great educational environment, and that we as adults are providing it to them to the best of our abilities.

Our children, the children of Central Unified are our next leaders. Leaders in this community, this city and our world. We need to be there to instruct, guide, and mold them so that they achieve greatness, becoming the fulfilled, thriving adults they were created to be.
